Dysfunctional families- royals

Unfortunately today is completely “normal” to have a dysfunctional family, because people changed a lot over the past couple of decades.
It is more surprising when you see a good, healthy family, than when you see a dysfunctional one. Fortunately you don’t see that often family with really big problems and disturbed relationships, which is little bit encouraging.
Obviously it has been always like that, and we will give you some examples straight from the royal families.
You have all heard about Cleopatra and how she ended her life, but not many of you know about her family “ties”.
When her father died, her brother inherited the throne so she decided that she wants to marry him, even though he was her brother. Ptolemy XIII realized that her ambitions may jeopardize his position so he had Cleopatra exiled.
Cleopatra was obviously very mad at him, so she joined her forces with Caesar and took the throne. Ptolemy XIII died, probably because she poisoned him.
Then we have William the Conqueror, who was the first Norman king of England. He had 4 sons. One of them unfortunately died before him, so he decided to split his kingdom and give it to other sons.
William has become a king, while Robert, the other brother got Normandy after his father died.
And of course we didn’t forget to mention Henry, the youngest son. He didn’t get the kingdom, but that didn’t stop him from doing anything.
William died because he had a hunting accident Henry used that opportunity and crowned himself. Robert did try to rule the country but he didn’t succeed. Henry kept Robert imprisoned for the rest of his life.
